Andy Dance is proud and honored to be your Flagler County School Board, District One board member.
Andy is a tireless community volunteer. He volunteers his time and efforts in support of the children in our community, working with local business organizations and in preserving and protecting Flagler County's natural environment. If granted the privilege to serve our children, he looks forward to focusing his attention on our school system and making our schools the safest, most productive learning environment possible.
Andy is married to Luci, his wife of 12 years. They have three children, Kayla (11), Sarah (9) and Drew (8). They all are proud students at Bunnell Elementary School and currently active in the Florida Jukido Jujitu Academy.
The Dance family has resided in Flagler County since 1972. Andy’s mother, Nancy Dance, still resides on a part of the property that was once known as TLL Ranch and the site of several other family businesses on Old Kings Road, South. Andy's father, George Dance, passed away in 2008. Andy attended Bunnell Elementary School and is a proud graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School, Class of 1981. Andy received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida (UF) in 1984, and in 2002, he was awarded the prestigious “Distinguished Alumnus Award” from the University of Florida for his leadership and outstanding service to the profession.
Currently, Andy operates his own consulting business, Andrew S. Dance and Associates, LLC, specializing in landscape architecture, land use and land planning, park and playground design, tree protection and tree mitigation, and designs for water conservation. As a local business owner, Andy is active in the Chamber of Commerce as a member of the Board of Directors and is a graduate of the Chamber’s Leadership X (ten). The Additionally, he is a past member of Enterprise Flagler, working to bring new and diverse businesses to the County and championing for local small business owners and the need to recirculate our local tax dollars within the community.
Andy is active volunteer in organizations that directly benefit the children in our community. Andy is a past Director and past Treasurer of the Flagler County Education Foundation (FCEF) and currently an ex-officio board member. FCEF is a direct-support organization of community volunteers committed to generating financial support to enhance the educational programs benefiting our school district. Recently, Andy sat as a jury member for the Take Stock in Children scholarships. Take Stock in Children is a comprehensive program that helps low-income children succeed by providing college and vocational scholarships and volunteer mentors.

Due in part to Andy's volunteerism in the community and his passion for education in Flagler County, he was recently appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to sit on the Board of Directors for the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler & Volusia. The Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties (ELCFV) works in conjunction with private, faith-based and public school programs serving children from birth to five years old, serving Flagler & Volusia Counties. ELCFV seeks to assist parents with the goal of increasing their child's chances for educational success. A sound education begins with high quality school readiness/ VPK services. The Coalition recognizes that parents are children’s primary first teachers, but also recognizes that by participating in quality school readiness/VPK programs children will be better prepared for school. 
Additionally, Andy is a Board member of the James F. Holland Foundation, a non-profit organization that focuses its efforts on raising funds and initiating programs which benefit the children and youth of Flagler County. One of the new and exciting programs of the James F. Holland Foundation is Project C.O.A.S.T., a proposed community-build playground and splash park. Andy is the Design Committee Chairman for the Project C.O.A.S.T. playground, which will be located in a newly developed area in James F. Holland Memorial Park.
Environmental preservation and enhancement is a passion for Mr. Dance. Andy is the past Chairman of Palm Coast’s Beautification and Environmental Advisory Board, working to help the City preserve environmentally sensitive lands, conserve natural resources, and provide leadership and direction on beautification and enhancement projects throughout the City. In addition, Andy has been an active participant in the community’s discussion and review of Palm Coast’s new Land Development Code.
